Daniel Windsor 100th Anniversary Celbrations
Trudy Durkin, Managing Director and HRH The Countess of Wessex
Retailing in Windsor for 100 years is an achievement of which we are very proud of. We are dedicated to providing the best possible value and service to our customers, as well as the community, whom we thank for their continued support and loyalty.
We were very proud and extremely grateful that her Royal Highness The Countess of Wessex agreed to be with us on Monday 17th September to celebrate this milestone in our history. The Countess was given a tour of our Windsor Department Store and spoke with staff members about how the store has evolved since it opened its doors in 1918.
The Countess was then invited to our Foggs restaurant where she unveiled a commemorative plaque to celebrate the store’s 100 years of trading in Windsor, which will serve as a reminder of this special day in years to come.
During a tour of our Lingerie Department, the Countess viewed a display of ‘A History of Women’s Undergarments Throughout The Years’.
Students from The Windsor Boys and Girls Schools performed for the Countess, before she enjoyed tea in our award winning Heidi bakery.
Over the years there have been family and team members who have worked tirelessly to ensure Daniel survived in Windsor, some dedicated their working lives to create areas of excellence, ensuring the continued success of Daniel over the years. We remember their dedication and are extremely grateful to them.
We wish to express our determination and commitment to the customer focused service which has underpinned our business thinking for the last 100 years, and will continue to provide the bedrock for the next 100.
On behalf of everyone at Daniel, we would like to thank you all for joining us.
